I actually bought this for listening to podcasts while I work! I wanted a headset that held itself up on my ear the way this one does. I also always listen with one ear open to what's going on around me so only having to deal with the one earbud was an added bonus! It's super lightweight and comfortable since all the weight isn't in the earbud the way most sets work. I also don't have to fumble with a free earpiece when I only use one. So glad I stumbled upon this set and I'm sure it would work great if you were a transcriptionist too (as I think it was meant for! lol) because all my podcasts sound great.
