I'm in the medical field and use it for dictating on the go. It works very well. I can't tell what kind of microphone it uses because I don't see it, but it somehow keeps out the background sounds very well and records everything I need easily.
I work in pathology in a hospital, and I have it with me almost all the time. I have been using it for about 2 weeks now, and the quality is great! I love it! It has a great quality sound, the ability to record for a long time without getting too hot, and it is very easy to use. The foot pedal also makes things so easy.
